This is a persuasive essay referring to Tuck Everlasting. If you have read the book this is a good page for your information.
Never Grow Old
If I had a chance to never grow old it would be hard for me to choose because Dr. Moon already chose what my essay is going to be about. He told us you have to refer to a bible verse and to the purpose driven life, and there is nothing that I know of in the bible or purpose driven life that talks about never growing old.
It always talks about us being a temporary assignment on earth and that we should spend eternity on earth. So if I want to tie into that I have to have my essay be about how I don’t want to live forever. But the problem is if everyone knew that I had drank the water and that I was never dieing they would just pretend that I was growing up except without my looks leaving me. So I would probably learn to drive and do all that stuff that everyone else that was forty would do.
But when the end of the world comes near, that would be the only time I would die, so I have more chance to spread the gospel to the people in the native tribes because if they threw a spear at me I would not die if the spear hit me, and there would be more of a chance for me to teach them about God. I would also be able to learn more languages and tell more people about God in their language. I might not die but I would be a really good missionary.
I know there are ups and downs of living forever, like if I lived forever my children would live and die through my life. But death is apart of life you cannot have life without death and you cannot have life without death. They are one and the same word in a way. But if I lived forever I would see change in the lives of everyone and no change in me. I actually might bring back culture from other countries to the present.
One Bible verse that I was able to get was this: “He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.” Revelation 21:4, I used this because if I lived forever then I would live to see this judgment day. This would be true just if there was a drink like that, but if they found one like that I would drink it.
